What this site collects

If you fill in the founding practice form or the launch list, we collect your name, practice name, client count and email address through Formspree, which processes the form on our behalf. We use it to contact you about Chivvy and nothing else. We keep it until you ask us to delete it or the founding programme ends, whichever comes first.

Cookies

This site and the app set no tracking cookies. We count visits with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies and collects no personal data, so we can see which pages people use.

Emails from us

If we email you at a business address without a form submission, we do so under legitimate interest for business-to-business research. Every email carries an unsubscribe link and a reply of "remove" is honoured within 24 hours.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our using it, by emailing hello@chivvy.io. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you use the Chivvy app

When you or your colleagues sign up, we're the controller for your account details: your name, work email, practice name, the answers you give when setting up, and how you use the app. We use them to run your account, send you service emails (such as sign-in links, invitations and the morning summary, which you can turn off), take payment, and improve Chivvy. Our lawful bases are the contract with your practice and our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. We keep them while your practice uses Chivvy and for up to six years after, for accounting records.

Payments are taken by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. We keep your plan, billing status and invoices.

Your clients' data in the app

When a practice uses the app at app.chivvy.io, the practice is the data controller for its clients' data and Chivvy processes it on the practice's instructions, under a data processing agreement. Chivvy reads the practice's clients' Xero (transactions, bills and bank accounts), stores the contact details the practice enters, sends emails in the practice's name, stores the files clients upload, and attaches them in Xero.

Chivvy uses these providers to do that:

Uploaded files are kept while the practice uses Chivvy and deleted within 30 days of the practice leaving, unless the practice asks for them sooner. Clients with a question about their data should contact their bookkeeper first, or email us.
